Colourful Glass

Creating these photographs was very easy.  Using Softbox Pro on the iPad to supply the colours and shapes and the iPhone (Pro Camera) to take the pictures, I was able to create these different effect using rose tip vases bought from a local market.  This photography intrigues me as the more you look at the light the different geometry you can visualise.  The possibilities are endless.  Click on the thumbnail to see more pictures.  Enjoy!

Panoramas

Using the iPhone for photography is great fun.  The app used to the create these panoramas is called 360 Panorama.  Gone are the days where you sit your camera on the tripod and then take several snaps.  After that, download them to your computer to stitch them together.  All done for you on the spot.  The picture is then emailed to the home computer and cropped ... and Viola!  Please enjoy!

Light Festival

During the Brisbane Festival (8th to the 28th of September), the Brisbane River is illuminated by special effects and light lasers in a spectacular show called The City of Lights.  The show is performed nightly.  The Festival culminates on the 29th of September with RiverFire.  A fireworks display along the length of the Brisbane River.  This was an opportunity to take the iPhone to photograph The City of Lights as well as South Bank at night.  Please enjoy!

South Bank - Brisbane City

On Friday, I packed my backpack with the usual photography equipment and my iPad.  My way was made to the Eight Mile Plains Busway.  After 10 minutes waiting, I was on the 111 heading for the city.  I decided to alight at South Bank and make my way to the city.  Heading towards the South Bank walkway, I looked over the Brisbane River towards the city and discovered a small flock of seagulls.  I went for my bag and took out my iPad.

Thai Dining

Completing a great day of photos and fun, it was time for dinner so Don and Neil were invited to our little Thai Restaurant called Kai Gai.  The food is always fantastic and the service is always friendly and efficient.  The meals are very reasonably priced and we always go home very full.  My favourite dessert is the fried ice-cream.  I would love to eat there every day, it is that good!  Click on the thumbnail to see the dinner pictures.  Please enjoy.

CityCat Adventure

Sunday morning, good friends Don and Neil joined in a photo safari on the Brisbane River.  Driving tothe city, we remembered that there was Bridge to Brisbane Fun Run with many road closures.  This meant a major detour and a change of venue to meet the CityCat.  We boarded at the Bulimba rather then our favourite New Farm Park.  Click on the thumbnail to take a tour of the Brisbane River.  Please enjoy.

Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens

Packed the photography gear and headed towards Mount Coot-tha lookout.  Fortunately, never arrived at the summit but made a stop at the foot to have a look at Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens.  Please enjoy.  Click on the thumbnail to visit the Gardens.
